What I wore:
My packing list for the bank holiday city break was pretty efficient, I must say. However, the outfit roster got quickly derailed by the copious amounts of shopping that transpired in the first morning of our arrival. As every girl knows, nothing is more exciting than taking your new items for a trial run so below is all the outfits I wore in 3 days and 2 nights, featuring outfit changes after every new purchase.

The best shop we went to was called Sepia Swing Club and it was this beautiful mix of 60s and 70s French Riviera vintage, with an equally glamorous shop owner happy to leave us to do our thing. Very Jane Birkin, very classy French actress, and decently priced. Some other honourable mentions are:
Blondi Vintage
Marcel and Simone
Coco vintage
Out of space vintage
Humana (obviously)
What I read:
City of Night by John Rechy. Imagine if someone threw a very beautiful, very lost young man into 1960s America and told him to wander endlessly through bus stations, bars and dubious encounters while everyone chain-smoked and no one went to therapy. That's essentially City of Night. At its core, it is loneliness dressed up in fabulous clothes, desire masquerading as freedom, and the peculiar lengths people go to in order to feel seen.
What I saw:
A lot of Peep Show, Plebs, and Keeping Up With the Kardashians- it was a sister trip what more could you expect?
What I did:
Le Panier was where we based ourselves and, truthfully, I wasn't entirely convinced at first. Everyone had insisted it was the place to stay, which naturally made me suspicious. But somewhere between getting mildly lost on our Lime scooters and stumbling upon yet another honey-coloured alleyway, Marseille began to reveal itself in all its slightly scruffy but still romantic glory.
Aside from the shopping, we did a lot of lying on the beach, giving my pasty skin a little fright. The sea was freezing but just beautiful enough it made the plunge worth every goosebump. The food scene in Marseille is truly like no other. I’m already a loyal lover of French cuisine but French cuisine x seaside was mind blowing. We tried to do a high-low situation while we were there, testing the local food vs the boujee restaurants. Truth be told it was all fantastic. Restaurant recss below:
